Floyd Ayite and Neeskens Kebano’s Fulham will not be selling their big stars after securing promotion from the EFL Championship to the Premier League, according to captain Tom Cairney.

Cairney scored the decisive goal in Fulham’s 1-0 win over Aston Villa in the promotion playoff final this past weekend, sealing promotion to the English top flight for the London club.

African stars Ayite (Togo) and Kebano (DRC) will both be looking forward to the prospect of playing in the Premier League next season.

However, there has been talk that the Cottagers' most talented players will be cherry-picked in the transfer market, including the likes of Ryan Sessegnon, Ryan Fredericks and Cairney himself.

Yet the 27-year-old believes their victory in the playoffs strengthens their prospects and makes it likely that they will keep the current team together as far as possible.

"I signed a contract extension last summer - I believed in what we're doing here," said Cairney.

"I believed in the way we play, and the manager has put a lot of faith in me. I've tried to repay him the best I can, and I think I did that today.

"I think people were coming to the end of their contracts and stuff.

"But I think this team being in the Premier League, based in London, I think it's an attractive club and I think it keeps the team together.

"I think that's why I said we needed to win [on Saturday]."

Fulham will be returning to the Premier League for the first time since the 2013/14 season.
